Inlandsbanan scenic train
The Inlandsbanan is a 1300km long scenic train route in Sweden, which starts in Kristinehamn in the south and ends in Gällivare in the north. The railway is open for tourist traffic with daily departures from the middle of June until mid August. At other times of the year, it is only open for chartered arrangements. The stretch Kristinehamn – Mora is operated by Tagab.

Conditions for Interrail Pass holders
Interrail Passes are valid on the Inlandsbanan. Seat reservation for groups is compulsory, for individuals a reservation is highly recommended as the trains are often very busy. The reservation fee is SEK 60 per person per day.
Special features
The Inlandsbanan railway takes you on a voyage of discovery through the beautiful Swedish countryside. You can travel from Värmland in the south via Dalarna up to Lapland in the north. The journey takes you through 19 municipalities. There is lots on offer, from exploring nature and local heritage to eating delicious foods such as cloudberries, whitefish and reindeer. So climb on board for a fantastic journey.
South of Jokkmokk, the Inlandsbanan crosses the Arctic Circle. The train makes a stop here.
All Inlandsbanan trains have knowledgeable, helpful train hosts. They will tell you about the places and scenery through which you are travelling. They are there to help you in whatever way they can and can also help with practical matters. The hosts remain onboard the train/coach and do not accompany you on excursions or to your accommodation.
