Celebrate a Latvian Midsummer 

 

Midsummer, or Ligo, is the biggest celebration in Latvia. Participate in this traditional festival by staying up all night on 23 June, joining the locals around a bonfire. With food and drink, wildflower wreaths and singing, it's a beautiful way to celebrate the summer.

Latvia's capital is a treasure chest of beautiful buildings and heritage, with the Town Hall Square directly in the centre. Sit for a while to admire the stunning House of the Blackheads and the Town Hall, before heading into the Occupation Museum to learn about the city's recent past.
