Alfa Pendular high-speed train

The Portuguese Alfa Pendular train connects all of the major cities in Portugal. Travel in comfort from Lisbon to Porto, Braga or Coimbra in the north or to Faro in the far south. With speeds up to 220 km/h, Alfa Pendular trains are the fastest way to get around in Portugal. Plus, they have excellent facilities, like free WiFi and on board snacks and beverages.

The Alfa Pendular runs from Braga in the north down to Lisbon, stopping in Porto and Coimbra along the way. From Lisbon onwards, the train goes south to the seaside towns of Albufeira and Faro in the Algarve region. The comfortable Alfa Pendular train offers the option to buy snacks and drinks on board. 1st class (Conforto) passengers can access the CP lounge before departure and will get a free drink and newspaper on the train.

Reservations

 

Reservation: compulsory

When a reservation is compulsory you must reserve a seat in advance. It's not possible to board the train without this reservation.

Reservations on the Alfa Pendular trains are compulsory. We recommend you make your reservations as far in advance as possible.

You can reserve your seat on the Alfa Pendular in the following ways: 

  • At the train station. Keep in mind that trains can become full during busy times.
