  • Up to two children can travel with one adult. For example, when two adults are travelling, they can take four children with them.

  • If more than two children are travelling with one adult, a separate Youth Pass needs to be purchased for the additional children.

  • Travelers aged 12 to 25 can travel with a Youth Pass.

What does my Greek Islands pass include?

 

Your Interrail Greek Islands Pass, with a validity of 1 month, includes the following:

  • 2 international trips between Italy (Venice, Ancona or Bari) and Greece (Patras).

  • 4 domestic trips throughout the Greek Islands. See the full list of islands below.

  • Train and bus service between Patras and Pireaus. Domestic ferries to the Greek islands leave from Pireaus.
     

The number of international and domestic ferry trips cannot be exchanged or adjusted. This means that there's always a maximum of 4 domestic ferry trips in Greece covered by your pass. The 2 international trips between Italy and Greece are optional.

The Interrail Greek Islands Pass is valid on all ferries operated by the Attica Group. Superfast Ferries is the name of the service that lets you travel from Italy to Greece.
 

You can book your international ferry trips online or through the Attica Group call center in Athens (+30 210 8919130 for Bari routes and +30 210 8919700 for Ancona routes).

Blue Star Ferries

 

The Interrail Greek Islands Pass is valid on all ferries operated by the Attica Group. Blue Star Ferries is the name of the service that lets you explore the many Greek Islands.
 

You can book your domestic trips through the Attica Group call center in Athens (+30 210 8919700 for Heraklion and +30 210 8919130 for all other Greek islands.)

Frequently asked questions

 
  • Do I need anything besides my Greek Islands pass to board the ferries? 

    Yes, you will need a boarding pass for each ferry, which you can pick up at the embarkation port. We advise you to be at the port about two hours before departure.

    Making reservations for the ferry is also highly recommended, especially during the busy summer period. You should reserve your seat or bed at least one month in advance.

  • Is the international journey between Italy and Greece compulsory? 
    No. The international ferry between Italy and Greece is optional. However, if you choose not to travel between Italy and Greece, you can't substitute your international crossings for extra domestic trips.
  • I want to make more than 4 domestic ferry trips in Greece. Is there a discount? 

    Yes, holders of the Interrail Greek Islands Pass get a 30% discount on all additional ferry routes operated by the Attica Group. Please keep in mind that your pass still has to be valid in order to get the discount.

  • Can Italian and Greek residents use the Greek Islands pass? 

    Yes. Both Italian and Greek residents can use the Greek Islands pass.

    The condition that an Interrail pass is not valid in your country of residence does not apply for this pass.

  • Can I bring my children for free? 

    Yes, children aged 0-11 travel for free on the ferries. They have to be accompanied by an adult with a valid Interrail Greek Islands Pass at all times.

    Children under 4 don't need a pass when they're not occupying a bed, berth or air seat. Children aged 4-11 need a Child pass - you can get 2 free Child passes with every Adult Pass. On the Interrail Greek Islands Pass page, check out prices under the tab that says 'Family'.

    Travellers aged 12 and up on the first day of travel can get the Interrail Greek Islands Youth Pass.

  • What accommodation do I get with my Greek Islands Pass? 

    On the international ferry routes between Italy and Greece, 1st class pass holders are entitled to a bed in a 4-bed cabin. 2nd class pass holders are entitled to Aircraft Type seats.

    On the domestic routes in Greece, there is no difference in class. Both 1st and 2nd class pass holders are entitled to Economy Class seats.
