If you plan to travel by train most days of your trip, a continuous pass gives you the freedom to travel every day if you want. Example: 22 days continuous.

 

If you want to travel by train on a set number of days, pick a pass that lets you to choose when you travel over a given period. Example: 5 days within 10 days. Decide on the go when you use each travel day during the period your pass is valid.

2nd class coaches offer a reasonable level of comfort. These coaches have less space and are usually more crowded than in 1st class.

  • The InterRail pass is valid for travel with participating train, ferry and public transport companies. Read more

  • Most high-speed and night trains require a reservation at an additional cost. Read more

  • To travel with a discounted youth pass, you must be aged from 12 up to and including 25 on the start date of the pass.

  • A youth pass is only valid in 2nd class coaches.

  • Can I travel longer than 1 month?  

    The InterRail pass with the longest validity is the Global Pass - 1 month continuous.

     

    There's so much to see and do in Europe, so it's no surprise that many travellers want to spend more than a month interrailing in Europe. All you need to do is order 2 (or more) InterRail passes, just make sure that the second pass is valid on the day after the first pass has expired!

     

    On Interrail.eu you can buy multiple InterRail passes in a single transaction and have them delivered to your home or work address.

  • How far in advance can I order an InterRail pass? 

    You can order InterRail passes up to 3 months in advance of your travel date.

     

    When you order your InterRail pass, you'll need to enter the date when you want to start travelling with your pass. This date is printed on your InterRail pass as the start date of your pass. You can order your pass up to 3 months before this date.

  • Can I travel with InterRail in my own country? 

    No, an InterRail pass is not valid for travel in your country of residence.

     

    This means that with an InterRail Global Pass you can travel in all participating countries, except the country where you live. It's also not possible to use an InterRail One Country Pass for your own country.
