Show your InterRail pass to receive your discount or special offer or contact the specific company in advance. The benefit offers apply during the validity of your pass. Free travel on trains, buses or ferries is only valid on travel days.

Set sail for Denmark with Scandlines ferries

Ferry between Sweden and Denmark

InterRail pass holders with a pass valid in Denmark and Sweden can travel for free on the route:

  • Helsingborg – Helsingør (Denmark)

 

Booking information
It is not necessary to make a reservation. Scandlines ferries depart every 30-40 minutes. Simply go to the Scandlines dock and present your InterRail pass to receive the discount.

Helsingborg central station is located next to the ferry docks. The passenger terminals can be reached from the central station on foot.

 

Travel to Finland, Estonia or Latvia with Tallink Silja Lines ferries

InterRail pass holders pay special fares on Tallink Silja Lines ferries that operate on the routes:

  • Stockholm – Riga (Latvia)
  • Stockholm – Mariehamn – Turku (Finland)
  • Stockholm – Mariehamn – Helsinki (Finland)
  • Stockholm – Tallinn (Estonia)

In high season you receive a 20% discount. In low seaon a 40% discount.

Please keep in mind that the above routes are night crossings and that you'll have to book a cabin.

From the Central station, take bus 31 to Malmö Frihamnen (2 stops from the station). From there it’s a 5-minute walk to the terminal.

Nynäshamn can be reached by train from Stockholm in 1 hour. The ferry terminal is in walking distance from the train station.

Oskarshamn can be reached by transfer bus. This service operates between Göteborg/Malmö - Oskarshamn. For information about timetables and bus stops, visit the Gutelinjen website


Buses

Take the bus to cross the border

InterRail pass holders can travel for free on the following routes that aren't covered by rail:

  • Haparanda – Tornio (Finland) – Kemi (Finland) (Veljekset Salmela)
  • Haparanda – Luleå (Länstrafiken Norrbotten)

Travel to Denmark and Norway

A pass valid in Sweden covers:

  • direct SJ trains to and from Copenhagen and Copenhagen Airport.
  • direct border crossing trains from Göteborg and Stockholm to Oslo.

Travel with the Berlin Night Express

InterRail pass holders get a discounted fare on this overnight train that operates on the route:

  • Malmö – Berlin (Germany) (including the ferry crossing Trelleborg – Sassnitz)

The reservation of a couchette is compulsory. You can travel overnight for just €29 in a couchette.

Your pass only has to be valid in Sweden.

Please note that this train only runs between June 23 and August 17.
